Dramatic body camera footage captured a tense confrontation between Los Angeles police and a man who was holding his brother at knifepoint.
The newly-released video is from May 1 at a home near 76th Street and Normandie Avenue. Police were first called to the scene for a possible burglary.
When officers arrived, family members told them that two brothers were fighting inside the house. Those officers quickly encountered one of the brothers struggling with the other over a knife, as seen in the newly-released surveillance video.
After a few moments, one of the officers opened fire, striking the man with the knife. He has been identified as Fredrick Spells.
Spells was taken to the hospital and is now facing multiple charges.
