SUN VALLEY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Dozens of vehicles were engulfed in flames after a fire broke out at a recycling yard in Sun Valley Sunday afternoon.
More than 100 vehicles were well involved when the fire erupted at the location in the 9100 block of Tujunga Avenue shortly before 4 p.m., according to the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
In just under an hour, the blaze was determined to be a major emergency fire, and approximately 100 firefighters responded to the scene, officials said.
Fire officials declared the stubborn blaze a knockdown shortly before 6:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles City Fire Department's Twitter page.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
