Mountain lion spotted strolling through Studio City driveway, video shows

STUDIO CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A homeowner in Studio City did a double take when he watched footage from his Ring camera and saw a large mountain lion right outside.

Chad Landers says he woke up in the middle of the night over the weekend and decided to check his security cameras.

After spotting a raccoon and a couple of coyotes, which are common in the area, he then spotted what he thought was a well-known bobcat in the residential neighborhood.

"But I'm like that looks awfully big to be the bobcat so then when it came into focus on a different camera, I was like holy crap, that's a mountain lion. It was so massive. My Tahoe is a pretty big vehicle and when you see the cat up against that, you're like OK this thing is huge,"

Landers says he's more concerned about the mountain lion's safety on the busy street that's near Ventura Boulevard than he is about resident safety.

He didn't see a tag on the big cat, but notified wildlife authorities about the sighting.
