
SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. (KABC) -- A man was killed on Monday in Santa Fe Springs after he became trapped beneath a street sweeper at a construction site.
Just after 8:30 a.m., Santa Fe Springs Fire and Rescue responded to the parking lot of a shopping center near Carmenita Road and Florence Avenue, where asphalt work was being done near the Target store.
The victim, identified as Ramon Rivera, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe the victim was part of the construction crew.
The Whittier Police Department is handling the investigation.
