1 killed, 5 injured after Tesla crash at Urbane Cafe restaurant in Simi Valley

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A person was killed and five others were injured after a Tesla crashed at an Urbane Cafe in Simi Valley on Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The crash was reported at about 2:30 p.m. near Tierra Rejada Road and Madera Road in a busy shopping center.

Aerial footage from AIR7 showed the aftermath of when the white Tesla crashed into the outdoor seating area of the restaurant.

The Ventura County Fire Department said one person died and five others suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known and remains under investigation.
