
SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- The Simi Valley community is mourning the loss of a teenage boy who was hit and killed by an Amtrak train.
Reis Beck, 13, was riding an e-bike and failed to stop in time at the railroad crossing near Sequoia and Los Angeles avenues on Saturday, according to the Simi Valley Police Department. He died from his injuries.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family. So far, more than $64,000 has been raised.
The Simi Valley Youth Baseball League that Beck was a part of is also holding a fundraiser. It will be held Thursday at Cronies Sports Grill.
Beck is survived by his parents and three brothers.
