Angels' national anthem flyover runs late at home opener

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- If you were at the Angels' home opener on Friday, you may have noticed something a little off during the national anthem performance.

The game started with a pregame flyover, but the timing wasn't quite right.

Video from fans shows the singer, Alexandra Castle, trying to stretch out the end of the Star-Spangled Banner so the pilots could reach the stadium.

The flyover was about 20 seconds late.

According to The Athletic, it marked the second straight year the Angels have had a flyover issue on Opening Day.

The team would go on to lose to Seattle, 3-1, in extra innings.
