Border patrol takes man into custody at Culver City car wash: Video

CULVER CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- Video shows U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents taking a man into custody at a car wash near Culver City on Tuesday.

The video, which was taken at Handy J Car Wash, shows masked agents pushing the man to the ground as they put him in handcuffs.

Meanwhile, a group of people yelled, "Get away, get away!"

Hundreds of participants marched from MacArthur Park to the county Hall of Administration on Tuesday afternoon.

The masked agents were then seen taking the man toward a group of unmarked vehicles.

It's unclear if anyone else was taken into custody.

Eyewitness News reached out to Border Patrol for more information on why the man was taken into custody, but has not gotten a response yet.

A federal judge last month issued a temporary restraining order preventing the government from stopping individuals in violation of the Fourth Amendment and requiring the government to provide detained individuals with access to counsel.

The federal government appealed the ruling, but last week, a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals declined to put a stay on the ruling. The federal government has appealed the issue to the U.S. Supreme Court.
