CULVER CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- Culver City police released new video showing the disturbing moments that unfolded before they started chasing a carjacking suspect who hit eight pedestrians.
Juan Luis Estrada, 45, of Perris, is facing more than a dozen charges as he is held on $10.25 million bail.
He was arrested last week after allegedly carjacked a white Toyota Camry at knifepoint. Estrada was then involved in a hit-and-run crash near the intersection of Centinela Avenue and Washington Boulevard, where he injured four of the pedestrians.

Newly-released video shows several of them being hit by the car near a gas station in the area.
Once the chase was underway, police say Estrada hit more pedestrians. The victims range in age from 15 to 70.

The chase ended when Estrada crashed at a McDonald's drive-thru.
Estrada has been charged with ten counts of attempted murder, one count of carjacking, one count of felony evading a peace officer causing serious bodily injury, one count of battery on a peace officer and three counts of felony hit-and-run.
A hearing next month will determine if he's mentally fit to stand trial.
