Water-main break shuts Hyde Park intersection

HYDE PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A water-main break forced the closure of an intersection in Hyde Park on Tuesday.

The incident was reported around 11 a.m. at Hyde Park Boulevard and Van Ness Avenue.

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews responded to the scene and closed down the streets to start on repairs.

Crews aren't sure why this pipe broke but they say it is not related to the ongoing repairs in the area.

There was no immediate estimate of how much water was lost. The LADWP estimated work would be completed by Tuesday evening.
