Suspect arrested in fatal shooting of teen outside Riverside church

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of an 18-year-old who was killed outside a Riverside church.

Thomas Scott, 30, of Riverside, was arrested on Thursday and booked into the Riverside County Jail for murder.

He's accused of shooting Luis Quintanar after an argument in the parking lot of the Central Community Church on Aug. 28.

Investigators say the teen and his friends were walking when they were approached by Scott. A physical altercation occurred, and the suspect shot Quintanar with a handgun and fled the scene.

Upon receiving tips from the public, detectives located and arrested Scott.
