Snow storm surprises SoCal mountain residents
Many mountain residents preparing for the summer got a nice surprise Friday, as snow reached down to the 4,500-foot level.

RUNNING SPRINGS, Calif. (KABC) -- Many mountain residents preparing for the summer got a nice surprise Friday, as snow reached down to the 4,500-foot level.

"This is more snow than we got all winter," Running Springs business owner Margaret Stivers said.

Mountain roads were cleared, but CalTrans officials urged the public to bring chains in case the weather worsens.
