LA Rams fans ecstatic over win; couple ties knot at tailgate party

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Los Angeles Rams' home opener was also a big win for fans who have been waiting more than two decades for professional football to return to Southern California.

It was a dream come true for Rams fans when the team took down the Seattle Seahawks.

More than 91,000 fans filled the L.A. Coliseum for the team's first game back in Los Angeles in 22 years.

Super fans Michael Griffin Jr. and Kerri Williams took their love for each other and the team to a whole new level, tying the knot during a wedding tailgate party.

"The whole reason we did it is because the Rams fans, our 'Ramily,' they're like our family, and we love them," Williams said.

Griffin and his new wife got the perfect wedding present as the team delivered a big win despite challenging conditions out on the field.

The high heat proved too much for some fans. Nearly 160 people were treated for heat-related issues.

But the hot weather did not dampen the team spirit.

"It was a beautiful game," said Long Beach resident John Lopez. "The Rams are back in town. I've been waiting 22 years for this. It's awesome."
