The Oct. 8 celebration will feature honors for Sen. Alex Padilla, among others.

A celebration of changemakers working to strengthen California is about to get underway right in the heart of Hollywood.
Coro California invites you to join them at the 50th Crystal Eagle Awards Gala on Oct. 8, where it will honor excellence in leadership.
The dinner will happen at the Taglyan Complex, from 5:30 – 9:45 p.m.
This year, former Los Angeles City Controller and Councilmember Wendy J. Greuel, Los Angeles County Metro CEO Stephanie Wiggins and Bank of America will each receive the Crystal Eagle Award.
Sen. Alex Padilla, who graduated from Coro Southern California’s Fellows Program in Public Affairs in 1995, will also be recognized with the Bruce Corwin Alumni Impact Award.
Tickets and sponsorships are available now on Coro California’s website.
“All four honorees have demonstrated the difference people can make for the public good, and that truly is at the heart of Coro’s mission,” communications director Gohar Chichian said.
Greuel was only the second woman ever elected to citywide office in L.A., and became the first woman to make a mayoral runoff in 2013.
Before serving the city in her elected capacity, Greuel spent a decade building the nationally-recognized after-school program LA’s BEST.
Wiggins made history in 2021 as both Metro’s first female and first African American CEO.
She previously served as CEO of Metrolink, and as Regional Programs Director of Riverside County Transportation Commission.
Bank of America was chosen for honors for their community revitalization and wildfire recovery efforts, Chichian said.
As part of its commitments, the bank is credited for reaching out to impacted clients, supporting sustainable rebuilding, and stepping into their role as a convener, bringing together businesses, government agencies, and philanthropy for equitable recovery.
Coro California is committed to training, empowering and connecting leaders from all sectors and generations to strengthen democracy, and tackle society’s most complex challenges together.
Dress for the Oct. 8 gala is cocktail attire.
Taglyan Complex is at 1201 Vine St., in Los Angeles.
