The U.S. announced a new round of strikes on Iran on Monday, hours after President Donald Trump said that the United States is "reinstating" a blockade on Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.
Pres. Trump said he signed an agreement with Iran that U.S. officials say calls for Tehran to dilute its stockpile of highly enriched uranium and waive sanctions on the country, immediately allowing Iran to sell its oil freely in a major concession from Washington.
The United States and Iran appear close to a deal to end their war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump has said multiple times in recent weeks that the warring parties have been on the cusp of a deal without anything coming to fruition.
The U.S. military says it's begun another round of strikes against Iran.
