The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved on Wednesday a drug that could extend the survival of those with metastatic pancreatic cancer.
Doctors say they're seeing more and more patients with advanced disease as people ditched screenings during the pandemic, such as pancreatic cancer.
A team of researchers at UCLA has been awarded $6 million in grants to help identify new ways to treat pancreatic cancer, which is the third leading cause of cancer-related death in the U.S.
"You know, in spite of what America and the rest of the world is experiencing right now, there are many reasons to be thankful," Trebek said.
"I want you to be safe. This is a terrible, terrible disease," Trebek said.
