MIRA LOMA, Calif. (KABC) -- Surveillance video captured three masked men who allegedly robbed a Mira Loma pharmacy and attacked its 69-year-old owner.
Video shows the robbers run into the Country Village Pharmacy on Country Club Drive on July 12, chase the owner then pistol-whip him as he tries to escape.
"I said OK, OK you can take whatever you want. He jumped from here and hit me to the floor and he starts kicking me," victim Mohammad Arshad said.
The victim was able to make it outside, but one of the men is seen pulling him back into the store, where the beating and robbery continued.
"I started shouting, 'Help, help,' as loud as I could do, but there was nobody outside," he added.
Arshad said the three left soon after taking his narcotic medications, but outside they were confronted by a resident who tried to intervene.
"They come rushing out, knocked me back about 10 feet. I got into a hassle with one of the guys because two jumped into the car real quick," the resident said.
The suspects got away, leaving the gated retirement community -- where the pharmacy has been a fixture for 32 years -- shaken.
Residents say the property management company needs to do more to make their community safe again, including putting a 24-hour guard out front.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is investigating. A license plate number provided by witnesses came back as stolen.
