SoCal to see cooler temperatures Thursday as May gray conditions linger

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Southern California stays on the cool side Thursday as morning clouds remain in the region.

With the return of May gray conditions, temperatures have dropped back down to where they should be for the next few days -- around the mid-to-upper 70s and low-80s.

Then, we're tracking yet another warmup next week.

Los Angeles and Orange counties on Thursday will see clouds in the morning, with a high of 73 degrees and a low of 56. More sunshine is expected over the weekend, but temperatures remain in the 70s.

The valleys and Inland Empire on Thursday can expect cloudy skies to start the day, with a high of 77 degrees and a low of 54. Temperatures will bump back up to around 80 Saturday, and warmer conditions return next week.

Beaches on Thursday will see cloudy marine layer skies, with the sun finally peaking out later in the day. Expect a high of 68 degrees and a low of 56.

Mountain communities on Thursday can expect a high of 70 degrees and a low of 35. Expect a sunny rest of the week.

Desert areas on Thursday will see gusty winds with a high of 87 degrees and a low of 57. Palm Springs is expected to reach 98 degrees.
