The 28-year-old LaBarbera went 5-8-4 with a 2.83 goals-against average, an .893 save percentage and two shutouts in 18 games with the Kings this season. The British Columbia native became expendable to Los Angeles because of the improved play by Jonathan Quick, who recorded a pair of shutouts last week.
LaBarbera, selected by the New York Rangers in the third round of the 1998 draft, is 34-42-8 with a 3.00 goals-against average, .901 save percentage and four shutouts in 98 NHL games. He is expected to join the Canucks in Nashville, where they are scheduled to play the Predators on Thursday.
