LOS ANGELES --The LAPD on Monday is mourning the loss of Deputy Chief Kenneth Garner.Garner was commander of the department's south bureau and was one of LAPD's highest ranking black officers.
He died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday.
The cause of death is not yet known, and an autopsy is pending.
Garner had been on the force for more than 30 years. He was 53 years old.
