The victim, who had not been identified pending next-of-kin notification, died on the way to the hospital.
Deputies say the suspect, Jose Abundio, was arrested at a nearby home in Palmdale shortly after the stabbing.
He was booked on a homicide charge and was being held on $1 million bail.
Abundio is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
The motive for the stabbing remains unknown.
