Wild pursuit through Hollywood ends in crash

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. Police said the pursuit began when the driver pulled alongside vice officers in an unmarked car, took out a gun and yelled at them.

The suspect sped off, driving on the sidewalk at one point and running red lights. Marked patrol cars were called to handle the pursuit.

The driver narrowly avoided one collision, but minutes later, he hit another vehicle at Sixth Street and Western Avenue.

No one was injured during the pursuit, which lasted 18 minutes.

The suspect could face charges of assault with a deadly weapon against a police officer.
