ACLU files to stop retaliations at L.A. jail

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES It wants a protective order for inmates, after reports that guards beat some of the men who reported problems.

Those problems were reported to the ACLU.

The motion filed with the court asks for a ban on retaliating against inmates for reporting problems.

A spokesman with the /*Los Angeles Sheriff's Department*/ said the /*ACLU*/ is exaggerating the incidents, and said the judge who oversees the jail recently toured it and found no wrongdoing.
