David Araya, 57, is charged with five counts involving alleged sex acts with a minor.
He retired immediately after investigators contacted him in July.
The /*Orange County Sheriff's Department*/ began an investigation after the mother of a 16-year-old girl found Araya and her daughter exchanging sexual messages through Facebook.
Araya was arrested December 21 and faces arraignment January 19.
