Police had the bank branch surrounded when the robber came out the front door with a gun to the head of a female hostage. As the robber backed away from police, he slipped in the ice and snow.
The hostage broke free, running toward police, as the gunman chased after her. Six officers opened fire on the robber, killing him.
The hostage was not hurt. One officer suffered injuries from a ricocheted bullet.
