Willie Nelson may be able to sing way out of pot-possession case

LOS ANGELES

A Hudspeth County attorney recommended to a judge on Tuesday that Nelson plead guilty, pay a $100 fine and sing "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" for the court as community service.

Kit Bramblett says the judge specifically demanded that Nelson appear in court instead of pleading by mail which is common in these cases.

Bramblett added that the judge wants to meet Nelson.

Nelson was charged with marijuana possession last November after U.S. border patrol agents searched his tour bus along the Texas/Mexico border.
