Haz-mat team called to investigate OC plane

A hazardous-materials team was sent to John Wayne Airport in Orange County to investigate a suspicious substance or device in an airplane restroom.

A 737 plane landed about 4 p.m. at the airport.

The Orange County Fire Authority was called to investigate the plane's restroom. It was not clear if the suspicious item was a device or a substance.

After investigating, Fire Authority officials declared there was no threat.

The plane was an Alaska Airlines 737 jet.
