Fire breaks out at Woodland Hills home

WOODLAND HILLS, LOS ANGELES

Nearly 150 firefighters responded to the three-story home on the 5200 block of Calatrana Drive shortly before 8 p.m. About 30 minutes later, the blaze was deemed a "major emergency," according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Katherine Main.

Firefighters got out of the home due to the potential for collapse, said Main.

A helicopter was brought in to drop water on the blaze. Crews managed to knock down the fire by 9:30 p.m. The house appears to be a total loss.

Fortunately, the flames did not spread to nearby brush, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
