Hitting Powerball jackpot to get even harder
People who purchase Powerball lottery tickets will have an even harder time hitting the jackpot.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- People who purchase Powerball lottery tickets will have an even harder time hitting the jackpot.

The rules are changing next week. There will now be more numbers to pick from.

The jackpots, in theory, will be higher, but the chances of winning are lower.

By the numbers, right now you will have a one in 175 million chance of hitting the jackpot. When the rules change, those odds will decrease to about one in 292 million.

Eyewitness News Inland Empire Bureau Chief Rob McMillan has more on the changes in the video above.
