PORTLAND, Ore. (KABC) -- Four people were injured when a gang member opened fire on them outside of Rosemary Anderson High School in Portland, Oregon on Friday, authorities said.

Taylor Michelle Zimmers, 16, was in critical condition, while David Jackson-Liday, 20, and Labraye Franklin, 17, were in serious condition, police said. Portland Police Sgt. Pete Simpson said they were alive and breathing when they were transported to the hospital.

A 17-year-old girl was grazed on her foot by a bullet, but was not hospitalized. She was treated at the scene. She has not been identified.

The victims are students or somehow affiliated with the school, according to police.

Witnesses told police the shooting may have been preceded by an argument. Authorities said the shooter and two other people fled the scene. The suspect remains on the run, but Sgt. Simpson said, "this is not an active shooter situation."

Police later said the shooting appeared to be gang-related, based on some of the people who were involved. Simpson would not say which victims were possibly tied to gang activity.

The shooting happened shortly after noon Friday near the school. Portland police said the shooting appears to be gang-related. The three victims ran back to the school for help after being shot, Simpson said.

Parents were called to the school. A nearby high school and community college were also placed on lockdown.

Rosemary Anderson High School is an alternative high school established in 1983. It serves at-risk students who were expelled or dropped out, are homeless or single parents.

According to the school's website, 190 students are enrolled at the north Portland location. The school also has a second location in Gresham.
