ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- Police are searching for the driver of a truck found in an Anaheim neighborhood, where a man's body was discovered in the middle of the street.

The body was found by a citizen around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Embassy Avenue and Nutwood Street.

The victim was not identified. Police are investigating the incident as a homicide and say it's possible that the man was hit and dragged by a vehicle along Embassy Avenue.

The circumstances surrounding the man's death were not clear, but investigators said they located "a vehicle of interest" not far from the scene.

The white Ford F-150 was found about two blocks away from the body. The vehicle has damage on the left front corner and down its side. Whoever was driving the car left it behind.

"We don't know what the relationship of that vehicle is, but it has struck the detectives' interest," said Lt. Eric Trapp with the Anaheim Police Department.

Officers had initially believed the incident was a hit-and-run but investigators have since retracted that label.

No further details were immediately available. No arrests were made.
