Chino barn fire kills 2 horses, injures man

CHINO, Calif. (KABC) -- A fire that ripped through a barn in Chino on Sunday afternoon killed two horses and injured one person.

The fire was reported in the 12600 block of Ross Avenue at 3:10 p.m. Smoke could be seen for miles as crews raced to the property.

Firefighters managed to keep the flames from spreading, but one horse died in the fire, and the other had to be euthanized after receiving severe burns.

A man was treated at the scene for burns but was not hospitalized.

A vehicle was destroyed, and the barn was damaged, but a damage estimate was not yet available. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
