BOYLE HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A crowd of about several hundred people who showed up in Boyle Heights for a photographic flash mob Saturday were dispersed by LAPD.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were dispatched to the area near 7th and Rio streets at about 7 p.m. after the group began snarling traffic in the area.

Participants described the event as a meetup for photographers and videographers expressing their creative side. The event was put together by FlaskMob, a group of like-minded creatives that get together once a month and take photos of their city, according to their website.

Some participants were seen shooting off small fireworks.

Nick Brazinsky, who attended the meetup, says everything stayed peaceful and there was no violence.

"We're all out here just enjoying ourselves, exploring Los Angeles, meeting new people, networking, hanging out with people with the same passions, and, you know, creativity is us," Brazinsky said.

No arrests were made, and no one was injured.
