LA archbishop says Catholic Church will continue to push for immigration reform
Los Angeles Archbishop Jose H. Gomez spoke out Tuesday regarding Donald Trump's recent remarks about undocumented Mexican immigrants.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- After announcing the appointment of three auxiliary bishops, Los Angeles Archbishop Jose H. Gomez took the high road when asked about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's recent remarks about undocumented Mexican immigrants.

"I'm not a politician, I'm a pastor, so I really haven't paid much attention to what he said, but obviously we want everybody to respect the dignity of the human person," Gomez said. "Every immigrant that comes to this country is a human person and deserves respect and consideration because they are just people like us."

Gomez says the Catholic Church will continue to push for comprehensive immigration reform. Watch Sid Garcia's report in the video above.
