LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Rap mogul Suge Knight was hospitalized for an undisclosed medical issue on Thursday before a scheduled court appearance.

Knight, 49, was supposed to appear in court for an arraignment hearing on a criminal threats charge and for a hearing in a robbery case, but he never appeared.

The Death Row Records co-founder was charged with robbery after a photographer reported that Knight and comedian Katt Williams stole her camera in September. Knight pleaded not guilty to robbery, but prosecutors added a criminal threats charge last week.

A court spokesperson said Knight was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

"We're living in Suge Knight's world, you know? It's whatever he wants. And he's costing the taxpayers and the city of Los Angeles lots of money," said a woman identified only as Kat. "But justice has to wait another day."

Knight was taken back to Men's Central Jail at about 3:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Kat is the photographer Knight is accused of making criminal threats against. She says she is looking forward to seeing justice served in her case.

Knight is currently being held without bail in connection to a fatal hit-and-run in Compton on Jan. 29 that took the life of Terry Carter. He faces a murder charge and an attempted murder charge in that case.

Knight's attorney has always maintained his client's innocence in Carter's death, insisting that he was acting in self-defense and was trying to flee when Carter was killed.

A conviction for murder would be a third strike for Knight, which could mean life in prison. He's scheduled to return to court on the criminal threats charge on April 8.
