HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man with long, flowing hair who wore robes and was known as Hollywood Jesus or WeHo Jesus died and fans paid tribute Wednesday night.

Kevin Lee Light was known to many in the area. Celebrities, such as Jared Leto, took photos with him and friends said he would pose for pictures with anyone.

Actress Pauley Perrette also tweeted her condolences after learning of Light's death.

Light was a regular at The Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip, and on Wednesday, there was a message honoring him on the marquee. Comic Tommy Godlove met Light at the club.

"He looks like Jesus, you know what I mean? So whenever he put it on he just lived that life," he said. "I met Hollywood Jesus...I always heard stories about Hollywood Jesus. I finally met him. He was just a kind guy. He was always smiling, would shake your hand."

Hollywood Jesus also made an appearance on the campy YouTube series "The WeHoans" and was a regular at the West Hollywood gay pride march.

The city posted on its Instagram account with a message: "We will miss you." Friends who attended a show at The Comedy Store were saddened by Light's death.

"He was amazing. Kevin was amazing. He was a light at The Comedy Store," Breanna Webb said.

Information on Light's death was not provided to Eyewitness News by the time the report aired.
