USC tight end Bryce Dixon, who missed spring ball drills due to an undisclosed student conduct issue, is no longer enrolled at the university, according to a statement posted on the athletic department website.

Dixon, who caught 14 passes for 198 yards and four touchdowns as a true freshman in 2014, was thought to have a bright future as the kind of athletic, pass-catching weapon who could thrive in Steve Sarkisian's offense, and he would have been the clear starter heading into next season.

With this news, the Trojans will now have to make new plans to man the position. Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick, a junior who sat out last year due to academics, took part in spring drills but looked rusty, and it was walk-on Connor Spears who was working with the first unit by the end of spring.

Fall camp will welcome a trio of bodies to add to the rotation with incoming freshman Tyler Petite, walk-on Caleb Wilson (son of USC defensive line coach Chris Wilson) and Oklahoma transfer Taylor McNamara.
