Mexico forward Giovani dos Santos says he would have rejected offers from Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur in order to come to MLS to play for the LA Galaxy.

Though his decision to leave Villarreal in La Liga to sign for the Galaxy in July 2015 was widely criticized in Mexico, the 28-year-old isn't regretting his decision to come to MLS.

Dos Santos spent four largely unproductive years on the books at Tottenham from 2008-12, but asked if he would either return to Spurs or stay in Spain with a move to Atletico Madrid, Dos Santos was adamant he'd still pick Los Angeles.

"If I take myself back to the moment of making the decision and if in that moment they'd have called from the teams you mentioned, I'd have chosen Galaxy," Dos Santos told ESPN Mexico.

"I'm happy with the decision I've taken. I get up in the morning and I'm happy and that is what is important for me in the end. I greet my family, my brothers, my parents. Me being happy doesn't have a price."

Despite earning over 100 caps for Mexico, Dos Santos spent his entire career in Europe before moving to MLS, but hehad words of praise for Liga MX.

"[My brother and I] haven't played in Liga MX and the only way that we can criticize as far as a league is concerned is the league we play in," he said in the same interview.

"We know the quality that there is here. We respect the football in Liga MX. It is great. It's one of the best in the world aside from the European leagues. Every league has its degree of difficulty."

However, asked if the Galaxy would make the playoffs in Mexico's first division, Dos Santos backed his club

"Definitely, we'd be champions!," he said with a smile.
