Golfing legend Greg Norman injured his left hand with a chainsaw, according to a post on his Instagram feed.

"Working with a chainsaw ALWAYS be respectful of the unexpected," Norman said in the caption to a photo of the Australian golfer in a hospital bed. "I was one lucky man today. Damaged, but not down & out. Still have left hand."

Another photo posted to his Instagram feed on Sept. 6 showed Norman using a chainsaw.

Norman is recovering in a U.S. hospital, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

The 59-year-old has 20 PGA Tour wins to his name as well as victories in two majors.
