Los Angeles Angels star Mike Troutsat out the team's 7-0 rout of theMinnesota Twinswith a sore heel and is listed as day-to-day.

Trout, who went a combined 2-for-7 with a home run in a Monday doubleheader against the Boston Red Sox, missed his first game of the season.

"I don't know what happened," Trout said, according to the Los Angeles Times. "I woke up today, and it was a little sore.

"I don't recall banging it on anything, slipping in the field. When I woke up it didn't feel right. Just walking on it, it was aching. But I got treatment today, and it's already a lot better than it was this morning, so I definitely will try to be in there tomorrow."

Trout, 23, is second in the majors with 28 home runs, one behind teammate Albert Pujols.

Pujols had originally been listed out for Tuesday's game as well but was reinserted in the lineup as the DH and went 2-for-4.

"We had been looking for a day off for Albert for a while, but knowing Mike's condition, Albert feels like he can DH and play," manager Mike Scioscia said, according to the newspaper. "When you approach Albert about a day off, he balks all the time, and I think that's one of the things that makes him a special player."

Daniel Robertson started in center field and batted ninth for the Angels, who secured their sixth straight victory and maintained their two-game lead over theHouston Astrosin the AL West.
