200-pound tortoise found wandering in Upland

UPLAND, Calif. (KABC) -- Upland police received a very unusual call over the weekend - it was about a 200-pound tortoise wandering the street.

Officer Omelas responded to the call on Saturday about the wandering tortoise, according to an entry posted to the department's Facebook page.

The officer was able to wrangle the tortoise. Then, he located and reunited it with its owners.
