Keeping your camera cold and your batteries warm will help you capture great photos this winter.

Winter holds countless opportunities to capture incredible photos. Before you head into the cold to get great shots, make sure you follow these winter photography tips.

Make sure your camera is kept cold. "Going from warm to cold will fog up the lens," according to AccuWeather. "You do not want condensation inside your camera, that could ruin it." However, batteries for your camera need to be kept warm.

Don't feel like you need to capture photos of only snow. There are a lot of captivating landscapes and animals to get photos of as well. If you find snow on your camera, brush it off, as blowing on it can cause "more moisture on or in your camera."

Make sure to watch out for footprints in your photos and where you're stepping, and also take the time to edit your photos afterwards to make them look great.
