Suspects caught in deadly ATM robbery

LADERA HEIGHTS The attempted robbery happened Sunday at 11:30 p.m. at a Bank of America in Ladera Heights.

Mylus Mondy, 47, went to the bank Sunday night. The suspects were in the process of robbing someone else at the time when Mondi showed up. At one point one of the suspects pointed his gun at Mondy's head.

"He then turned his attention to our victim. He walked over to him with a gun in his hand. The victim looked down at the gun, which you can see in the video tape, and was hit in the head with that weapon by the suspect. He then pointed the weapon at the victim's head. The victim ran and the suspect chased him the victim. While he was doing that he began firing at him. The victim was shot and died," said Sgt. Lee Sands, LAPD.

Bank of America offered a $20,000 reward for information in the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

Police identified the suspects in custody as 23-year-old McKenzie Bryant and 22-year-old Enjoli McClendon.

Police say tips from the public helped locate the suspects.
