Prosecutors had also charged Barton with being an unlicensed driver and possession of 28.5 grams or less of marijuana. The first charge was reduced to an infraction and the drug charge was dismissed as part of the plea deal.
Barton did not attend the court hearing in Beverly Hills. Her attorney. Anthony V. Salerno, entered the plea on her behalf.
"Ms. Barton understands the seriousness of this situation and assumes full responsibility for her actions," Salerno said. "She and I are grateful to the court and the District Attorney's Office for the prompt and respectful resolution of the case."
