Study: Hypnosis may help smokers quit

Smokers have tried nicotine patches, gum, even antidepressants in attempts to quit. Now researchers at UC San Francisco find that hypnosis may be a good alternative to those trying to quit smoking. In their study, hypnosis appeared to work better in those who had a history of depression.

Out of 50 million Americans who smoke, about 1.3 million have successfully quit.
