2 allegedly tried to rape church teen

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. Rayleen Camarena, 25, and Arthur Martinez, 27, attended Gateway Christian Fellowship Church in San Bernardino, along with the alleged victim.

Investigators say the couple sent the teen sexually explicit text messages and took her to a remote part of the Lytle Creek area, where they gave her alcohol and tried to force her to have sex.

"The suspect, Raylene Camarena, had spoken to the victim's mother, and assured her that she was going to be taking her to a youth function at Fiesta Village, so the mother allowed Camarena to take her child," said Jodi Miller, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Dept.

When the teen refused, the suspects returned her home.

Deputies think there may be other victims, possibly from the same church.

No one at the church wanted to talk with Eyewitness News about the suspects. They're disturbed with the allegations that two of their fellow church members tried to rape another.

Anyone with information is urged to call the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department at (909) 387-3615.
