Parolee at large shot after pursuit

HIGHLAND, Calif. It started when San Bernardino Police tried to pull over a driver around 11:30 Thursday night. San Bernardino Police Captain Brian Boom says the suspect wouldn't stop so officers started pursuing his vehicle.

The motorist, who was a parolee at large, came to a stop at a dead end on Vine Avenue in Highland. He jumped out of his car, and ran away. An officer caught him as he tried to jump a wall.

Boom says the two struggled on the ground, and the officer shot the suspect several times. He is in stable condition at a local hospital. No word on whether the officer was hurt.
