Carjacking suspect arrested after pursuit

COMPTON, Calif. The deputies were called to Central Avenue and Rosecrans Avenue, after a report of an attempted carjacking.

Investigators say the suspect hid behind a car, before firing at deputies. Then he took off running, shooting at deputies again, before hiding under a boat in the 14000 block of Parmelee. That's where he was arrested.

Investigators say the man had earlier carjacked a vehicle in Long Beach.
