City makes intersection safer after death

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. Ruby Rose Gould was killed and her mother and cousin were injured after they were hit by a car on Croupier Drive and Springdale Street on Sept. 7.

Huntington Beach is reinstating a cross guard and turning on a flashing yellow light at the crosswalk.

The crossing guard position was previously eliminated due to budget cuts.

The city said it will also look for funds to install a traffic signal at the location.
