Police say a man murdered his wife and daughter Sunday morning, then jumped to his death. There was a 911 call just after 10 a.m. of two bodies found at a house in the 25200 block of South Petroleum Avenue in the Harbor City-area of Los Angeles.

A SWAT team was called in for a potential standoff situation. Officers later determined there was no one inside.

When officers searched the home, they discovered the bodies of Bich Loan Truong, 56, and her 27-year-old daughter, Lisa Truong Nguyen.

Investigators discovered that at around 9 a.m., the suspect, 60-year-old Bach Xuan Nguyen, had gone to a relative's house and dropped off an envelope. When the relative read the enclosed letter he discovered that Nguyen had murdered his wife and daughter and intended to commit suicide.

Authorities later discovered the suspect's body after they say he committed suicide by leaping off a building in San Pedro.

Police say initial indications are that the women died from blunt force trauma.

Detectives are still trying to determine a motive for this crime.
